Rangatahi Māori career planning workshops
Career Services offers career planning workshops around New Zealand for junior and senior Māori students.
Taiohi Tu, Taiohi Ora - career planning for senior Māori students

- Senior Māori students working on a career planning activity
Taiohi Tu, Taiohi Ora workshops are aimed at senior Māori students in Year 11, 12 and 13.
The aim of Taiohu Tu, Taiohi Ora workshop is to enable students to make informed decisions and positive choices about their futures. The workshop encourages students to be motivated to study and learn, and to be aware of the steps they need to take to achieve their goals.
The first stage of the workshop involves activities and discussions to help students widen their job options, and think about what is important in making career choices. Students examine their personal qualities, values and skills, and career interests. They also look at ways of overcoming barriers.
The next stage of the workshop focuses on future work and involves students learning how to use resources to gather information about jobs, labour market trends and training providers.
