How Careers New Zealand works with Pasifika peoples

Careers New Zealand is committed to working with Pasifika communities to ensure Pasifika peoples have the information and skills they need to make good learning and career decisions. Read more about the many different ways we can help you.

Strategies for working with Pasifika peoples

Our career planning with Pasifika youth focuses on making dreams become a reality

Our overall aims are to:

  • extend our services to more Pasifika peoples
  • work more effectively with Pasifika communities and agencies
  • build stronger evidence of and analyse the effectiveness of our services for Pasifika peoples.

Careers New Zealand – in its strategic framework for Pasifika and as part of the Government’s priorities in education, training and employment – is focusing on two areas:

  • Pasifika youth
  • Pasifika adults in semi to low-skilled jobs and those in ‘at-risk’ industries - that is, industries that are most affected by a recession.
