If you don't get the job
Consider each job application a learning experience.
Ask yourself why you missed out. Try to find out from the employer or recruitment agency you deal with, particularly if you have reached the interview stage.
Do not be afraid to ask for constructive feedback - it could really help you with your next application.
Not getting interviews?
Consider:
- what you said (or didn't say) in your CV, covering letter or application forms
- how you presented your application
- whether other people were more qualified than you because of education, prior work experience, comments on school reports.
Rejected at the interview stage?
Consider:
- how you presented yourself
- your grooming
- your attitude
- what you said (or didn't say).
Don't be discouraged - try again. It can be difficult matching your skills, needs and wants with an employer's requirements, but don't give up!
