Entering trade training

Training on the job can be a good alternative to tertiary study as a way for your child to gain skills and/or a qualification while working.

You may have heard of the terms "industry training", "trade training" and "apprenticeship" before, but are not sure what they actually mean. Are they just different terms that refer to the same thing?   

In a way, yes. These terms all relate to learning in the workplace, and working at the same time towards a national certificate or gaining credits as part of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
