CareerQuest

What is CareerQuest?

CareerQuest is an interactive careers exploration computer program. It helps people to discover and explore occupations that suit their interests and skills.

CareerQuest analyses people's answers to questionnaires about their interests, skills and study choices, to suggest suitable occupations. People can see how their answers relate to the suggested occupations and review them if they wish.

CareerQuest contains comprehensive information about hundreds of different jobs, sourced from the Career Services' website. People can delve into this information to find out more about the jobs they are interested in, and compare them.

CareerQuest also has a planning tool that people can use to set out their goals and the steps they will take to reach them.

Availability

CareerQuest is free to state and integrated secondary schools. These schools automatically receive a copy of each new release when it becomes available. Training is also available free. Contact your local Career Services office for information. 

Other organisations may purchase CareerQuest from Career Services. The retail price is $216.00 including GST. Information about future new releases is sent to our clients when these are available.

What's new in CareerQuest 2007

• User passwords

During installation, you are offered three choices for student passwords: no password required, password is optional, or password is required to use the program. You need to decide which option you will use before the program is installed.

• CareerQuest no longer expires

The CareerQuest program no longer expires. Instead, when the program is due to be updated, a message will appear suggesting you make enquiries as to whether the update is available.

• Education levels have been revised

The education levels of the jobs have been revised and aligned to the five-level classification system used in Pathfinder. This classification system links to the levels in the National Qualification Framework.
