Brian Miles' work-life balance offers him a new direction

Brian Miles.

“If you’re into sports then the Navy provides a great way to combine your hobbies outside of work with what you do for a living. I’m a bit of a fitness-junkie and so the Navy way of life certainly supports that, allowing me to train most days, and run during my lunch hour. I love going to the gym and I also do regular half and full marathons – and that definitely clears my head.

“Because fitness is such a key element of the Navy, and team sports are massive, it’s definitely something I recommend you get on top of before joining up.

“When I finish up here in another couple of years, I’d like to use the skills I’ve gained and go into personal training, because it’s not just my level of fitness that has improved here, but also my people skills.”
