Rethinking Career Education in Schools: Foundations for a New Zealand framework

This report was prepared in 2009 as part of the review and enhancement of the support Career Services provides to schools.  It draws on a review of the literature available in this field as well as the external evaluation findings, practice experience, and feedback from schools involved in the Creating Pathways and Building Lives project.  It provides an outline of how effective career education programmes might be developed in New Zealand.

This report is currently being used to reframe the work Career Services does to support career education in schools. It is intended to be the start of an ongoing dialogue about ideas, evidence and practice in career education.
