The magic of myths
The magic of myths resource gives ideas for using kōrero pūrākau – Māori myths and legends – to connect with students about their future pathways. The resource includes three kōrero pūrākau and sample activities to go with these. The myths are Rona and the Moon, Rata and the Tree, and How Māui Got his Name.

Kimi Mahi

- Several of our online resources are available in te reo Māori
Kimi Mahi is a fun, interactive job exploration game designed for students aged from 10 to 13. The game is set at a national outdoor kapa haka festival. Students can click on people or objects in different scenes to answer job quiz questions. The game requires Adobe Flash player.
He Aronga Mahi
He Aronga Mahi (Jobs by interest) helps students find job ideas that match their interests. It is available as an online, interactive tool and as a bilingual downloadable booklet. This resource is accompanied by a downloadable student activity sheet.

Other resources
Victoria University has created a booklet called Cybrospace. The booklet contains inspirational real-life stories of Māori scientists, technologists, engineers, architects and designers. It is produced by Te Rōpū Āwhina, a science mentoring programme at Victoria University and is in a format aimed at rangatahi Māori.
The Ministry of Education has produced study guides aimed at Māori secondary students. These colourful booklets encourage students to dream, study and plan toward future goals. They are available for download on the Team-Up website.
