Keynote presenters and programme now confirmed

The conference and workshop programme for this year’s international careers conference has been confirmed and is available online. Seventy-three presenters from 12 countries will share their perspectives and inspire debate on a range of topical and challenging themes.

The local and internationally renowned experts delivering the conference’s keynote addresses are:

  • Professor Jim Bright, from Australia, a leading professional in career development. His presentation, Shift Happens – Life on the Overlander, will focus on a new approach to career counselling, advice and career education, based on the premise that change is inevitable.

  • Professor Linda Tuhiwai Smith (Ngāti Awa and Ngati Porou), pro vice-chancellor Māori for Waikato University. She will address some of the issues about career planning, leadership and mentoring that are faced both by Māori and other cultures.

  • Lynne Bezanson and Sareena Hopkins, co-executive directors of the Canadian Career Development Foundation, a project-based non-profit organisation with a mission to strengthen access to quality career services. Lynne and Sareena will speak on the theme of lessons in resilience, combining a review of research, their own stories, the lessons they’ve learned, and their application to careers guidance.

  • Dr Ganesh Nana, leading New Zealand economist and commentator from  Business and Economic Research Limited. Ganesh will discuss the changing patterns in the world of work, and the challenges and opportunities for New Zealand in this area.

We warmly invite you to attend this international event, which will showcase the latest in career development practice and policy. It will also provide a fantastic opportunity for New Zealanders and international delegates to share and learn.
