Teachers guide
Learning and career planning is a process of exploration and discussion that leads to the identification of possible future learning, career and personal goals.
The activities in this guide develop the career management competencies that students will need to make career-related decisions at school and beyond. They are designed to prepare students to make subject choices.
Schools can pick and choose from the suggested activities in the guide, adapt them, re-sequence them and add in others to suit their students’ interests and needs. Many of the resources suggested for use are included in the supporting resource Career Kete.
Student plans
Students enter information into a learning and career plan, or similar document, at relevant points in the process. Many schools develop their own planning document for students. The template below provides one model. You can freely copy and adapt it to create plan documents for your students. The teachers guide includes advice on ways of using and adapting the template.
