Structure: small groups
Duration: 20 minutes for each round
Resources: large sheets of paper and pens, a prepared example showing students what you want them to do (optional)
Instructions
- Write a starter job on the board. This should be a job that has links to several other jobs.
- Tell students they are going to write down all the other jobs they can think of that would have some kind of dealings with the starter job.
- Show your prepared example and talk through it making the points that i) jobs connect with each other ii) jobs may use similar sets of knowledge and skills and iii) people may move from one job to another in their careers.
- Groups do the activity and then share their results.
