International careers conference takes shape

Details about keynote speakers and how to register your interest

March 2009

International careers conference takes shape

Career Services Transforming Careers conference logo.

This year’s international careers conference is designed for anyone with an interest in the development of careers in our changing world. It offers a stimulating programme with a renowned line-up of international and local keynote speakers who will inspire debate on themes such as best careers practice in learning and workplace settings, and realising the potential of indigenous and migrant communities.

Conference programme

Abstracts are now closed and are being reviewed by a panel of career professionals from across the sector. The conference programme will be published following evaluation and selection.

Keynote speakers

The following keynote international speakers have been confirmed:

Professor Jim Bright – a leading Australian professional in career development. His presentation is entitled 'Shift happens, the next chapter', and focuses on a new approach to career counselling and education. Given that Jim recently teamed up with jazz virtuoso James Morrison to give an entertaining presentation of creativity, this looks to be a memorable presentation.

Lynne Bezanson and Sareena Hopkins, co-executive directors of the Canadian Career Development Foundation, will speak about 'lessons in resilience'. Their presentation will combine a review of research, their own stories, the lessons they’ve learned, and their application to careers guidance.

More keynote speakers will be added to the programme over the coming weeks.

Registrations

Earlybird registrations are open until 31 July 2009.
