Youth Pathways / He Ara Rangatahi Evaluation

Youth Pathways / He Ara Rangatahi (HAR) is a one-on-one guidance and general well-being support service set up to support young people who are at risk in their transition from schools. HAR was piloted by Career Services between October 2003 and July 2004. Based on the Moving On Up programme, first run in Northland in 2002, and part of the government's Youth Transitions Strategy, the programme incorporated general international understandings that individualised, holistic approaches work best with young people who are at risk during the transition process.

An evaluation was done on the HAR pilots in Palmerston North, Christchurch and Napier centres. The report was undertaken by the New Zealand Council for Educational Research (NZCER).
