Common career myths

Other people can prevent me from entering the kind of work I like

"Other people’s opinions and expectations can be powerful in making a career decision. But ultimately it is your choice what you do with those opinions and expectations.  It’s about knowing why you would like a certain type of employment and being able to communicate it to others. Being aware when other people’s opinions or expectation are impacting on your own decision can be a sign of maturity while I also think it’s OK to
agree to disagree and follow your heart and intuition in relation to work choices."
