Whether you've just arrived in New Zealand or have been here for some time, we offer a range of free services to get you started on finding a job.

Career Services staff can assist you in many ways, including:

  • helping you understand how your experience and qualifications fit into the New Zealand setting
  • showing you how to find out about the industries and jobs in your area
  • telling you about ways to build your networks and learn how to look for a job
  • showing you how to contact employment agencies and other support agencies
  • giving you advice on preparing your CV, and on writing covering letters to introduce yourself
  • helping you to learn skills for job interviews
  • giving you some tips to help you understand the culture of New Zealand workplaces.

We are a government agency, so if you have New Zealand residency, our career planning services may be free. If you are not a permanent resident, there will be a charge.
