Transcript: What type of work environment suits you?

Sarah McIndoe, career consultant:

The physical environment  that you work in is important, so try and picture yourself in it beforehand. This might be easy; hairdressers work in hair salons, builders work on building sites…

But there are other things to consider about your work environment. In the sports turf industry - you will be working outside. Graphic designers are always in front of computers, and in the flooring industry you may be somewhere different every day - but you will be indoors.

So be sure that the work environment is right for you and the easiest way to do this is to get into the job for a while and try it out.
